The Buttonwood Manor – named for the charming buttonwood trees that surround much of its landscape – has been established in beautiful Matawan, New Jersey for over 75 years. Because of the Buttonwood's longevity in the area, it is now known as a local mainstay: a go-to venue for all of life's special events. Therein lies our mantra – 'Your Celebration Destination' – because once you have one event with us, you'll want to keep coming back!
In 2013, MJ's Restaurants acquired The Buttonwood Manor, forming a unique synergy between the team of industry veterans making up the MJ's management team and the seasoned event specialists whose exquisite attention-to-detail will help ensure an unforgettable experience for you and your guests.
The Buttonwood Manor has private banquet rooms capable of accommodating events up to 225 guests.
Our exclusive Lakeview Room can accommodate any event between 100 and 225 guests. The elegant interior is highlighted by an entire wall of picture windows, allowing radiant light to cascade across your event during daylight hours. During evening events, our breathtaking fountain becomes the highlight of the scenic landscape. Our Lakeview Room also comes equipped with an adjacent private suite that can be used if hosting in the Lakeview. A private waterfront deck, with access from your event space, can be used (weather permitting) for ceremonies or additional congregation space for your guests. The waterfalls and lush landscaping provide an ideal backdrop for those picture-perfect moments with you and your guests.
The Greenhouse Room can accommodate up to 100 guests, who will enter your event through our glass atrium. Views of our tranquil koi pond and landscaped waterfall adorn the private hallway that leads to your room. The space is enhanced by amber chandeliers and curved glass windows that provide a beautiful, airy aesthetic while maintaining a sense of exclusivity for you and your guests. A newly installed dancefloor, stage area, and private bar are also available to ensure your guests have the time of their lives!
For a more intimate experience, our Terrace Room features wall-to-wall mirrors which project the adjoining views of the ever-changing lake scenery. This room can accommodate up to 50 guests, making it the perfect setting for smaller events, while maintaining the high -quality service that our guests have to come to know and expect from The Buttonwood Manor. This room is ideal for cozy gettogethers such as bridal and baby showers or company parties
